One exciting part of the evening: Shelley at de Soto gallery had a painting stolen during the middle of the reception. Apparently some guy tucked it under his shirt and took off down the hall. I saw Shelley and her friend running after the guy. Fortunately they caught him but the artist didn't press charges and just let him go. Can you believe it? Shelly said she was a combination of flustered or flattered.

That artist folks was Stephen Sarre Reynolds.

I left a blizzard in NY for the blue skies of California... quite a change.

Preps for the show are going well- I am framing a work, a series of blocks (18) I painted in NY. They look good. The big diptych arrived safe and well, and I spent last night stretching it - the proof of the pudding, so to speak - and all went swimmingly!

No PC in ny to use, so am at apple store scamming time amongst the consumers - hence lack of typed material.

NY is just rad- so much, so dense, bang boom. getting very good responses to the art. Am flying back to LA for a show (27th jan to 2nd feb) in a big art fair with a gallery - met the woman director socially - she's very astute and it is all on. A good testing ground for new artists...

I met with a gallery today who want to do a solo show in SoHo in mar/apr at a converted firestation/gallery. We shall see!


Lastly- postponing UK until visa expires in march. NY is where its at, and i'm gunning hard.
